RBMA Weekender

RBMA Weekender

Something super exciting this way comes… Jozi is a mere week away from experiencing, its first ever Redbull Music Academy weekender festival. Joining the likes of Stockholm, Vienna and Tokyo, this will be the first time South Africa will experience the scale and diversity which earned this festival a place in the global music festival calendar and its happening in our very own city! For this weeks Man Crush MondayBig Bad Wolf has decided to inform you on all the male artists not to miss out on! With over 60 artists, over 3 days all across the city- This is one festival not to be missed!

Black Coffee

Black 1

With several awards, including a BET in his back pocket, this local Dj-ing sensation is my number one artist to see! His show is taking place on Sunday the 4th of September at Zone 6 in Soweto. Fans all across the world may shed a tear of jealousy when we get to dance again to his soulful beats. This is the one show not to miss out on!

Christian Tiger School

Not only does their name do it for me but their quirky take on the electronic and hiphop genre makes them a group to look out for this weekender. Hailing from Cape Town and comprised of Luc Veermeer & Sebastiano Zanasi be sure to catch them on Saturday, 3rd September at 1-Fox Newtown.

Jullian Gomes

The only way to describe Jullian Gomes is hypnotic. Utterly and deliciously soothing for the soul, Gomes epitomises what deep house should sound like. Having played all around the world and at some of South Africa’s top festival Gomes will certainly not disappoint! Catch him on Saturday, 3rd September at 1-Fox Newtown.

Riky Rick

The only rapper that was ever able to get me to listen to South African rap- and now I am hooked. Creating true, unadulterated and non-novelty rap I still have Boss Zonke on repeat. I can just imagine how lit his show is going to be. Not only will he entertain with his beats but expect inspirational fashion head-to-toe. catch him Sunday, 4th September at Zone 6 in Soweto.

Kid Fonque

Described by many fans as ‘love at first beat’ we at Big Bad Wolf could not agree more. Possibly our favourite on this list, Kid Fonque is a Jozi-based Dj, producer and local tastemaker. Inspired by everything from Bossa Nova to broken beats, Kid Fonque has played in clubs and festivals all across the world and its finally our time to see this golden-boy play again! catch him Saturday, 3rd September at 1-Fox Newtown.
