This weeks Woman Crush Wednesday goes out to all the talented women taking part in this seasons AFI fashion week. The South African fashion game would never be the same without these designers and models working their butts off so people like me actually have something to write about. Take a look at the top 4 female designers and models to look out for this AFI.
If you were lucky enough to attend Africa Burn this year I bet you noticed all the most stylish ladies dressed in Shana. Shana has a specific talent in making designer pieces approachable and easy-to-wear. What makes Shana stick out from the rest is that each print you witness sauntering down the runway are designed in house- either hand printed or screen printed, using the best quality to ensure longevity. Counting down the seconds to this show!

I was fortunate enough to have worn an impeccably made Ruff Tung jumpsuit to last seasons fashion week and ever since then I have fallen in love with this design duo. Young, fresh and inspirational, Ruff Tung are all about adding fashion value for women of all shapes and sizes. Focusing on creating unique, well constructed designs that wont break the bank, Ruff Tung have become a Big Bad Wolf favourite.

Taking on a design challenge most would not dare to, NN Vintage ( AKA Nhlanhla Nciza) fuses African, western, vintage and modern designs all into one range and they always leave us wanting more. Inundating the audience with bright colours, flowing ball gowns and uniquely African designs, NN Vintage always bring that X-factor to fashion week. I can only imagine the show they have in store for us. Be sure not to miss it!

Sadly we will not be blessed with the beauty that is a Suzaan Heyns show, yet we will be lucky enough to spot her designs in the Sterns Bridal Showcase. A show that will have all of us reliving our childhood wedding fantasies, Sterns Jewellers are sponsoring a showcase of twelve bridal dresses designed by 12 of South Africa’s most talented designers, and our girl Suzaan is one of them. Be sure to expect gothic-esque drama with subtle hints of romanticism.
ShowTime: 19:00, Saturday 13th August
Models to Watch
Emy Ozori ( Boss Model)
This model brings that much needed Sass-appeal time and time again.
Matachley Salmon ( Ice Model)
I have yet to find a model that struts her stuff quite like Matachley.
Elsa Hansen (Boss Model)
The epitome of the girl-next-door, if the girl-next-door was a high fashion model.
Janet Otobo ( Ice Models)
Probably the most versatile model on the list, I cannot wait to see her slip into high-fashion mode.
